MacKoul Electric, was formed in 1978 by brothers George and John MacKoul, when George decided to go into business for himself in the electrical field where he’d been working for many years. Their first large customer that year was Worcester County Institute for Savings, whose locations are still being serviced today by MacKoul Electric, although the banks have changed hands through many banking mergers and buyouts.
Many large, long term projects followed, including street light repair through Mass Highway and water heater installation and repair through Mass Electric.
Eventually, John left the business to pursue other interests and George grew the business.
In the early 1990’s, MacKoul Electric branched out into the sign and lighting market, working for various retail chains, malls, car dealerships, and big box stores.
Today, with changing technology, we’ve added LED lighting installations and upgrades and energy efficient car charging station installations to our growing list of services we provide.
